Karl Konrad and Anna Maria Leuenberger emigrated to America
and reached New Orleans 9 Apr 1833.
Charles saw some of Stephen F. Austin's glowing literature
about the fertile lands of Texas, and Landing
at the mouth of the Brazos River,
they slowly made their way inland by an ox team
to Austin's Colony in present Austin County, in July 1834.
